Best Betting Sites in Kenya 2026
We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
The BCLB shut down 58 unlicensed betting sites last year. Sites that took deposits via M-Pesa and refused to pay out. With 99 licensed operators in Kenya for the 2025/2026 financial year, you don’t need to gamble on the site itself.
Betika, SportPesa, and OdiBet are the three strongest picks for Kenyan punters in 2026. Betika leads on speed and jackpots, SportPesa on brand trust and market depth, and OdiBet on accessibility (KES 1 minimum deposit, 2.57 MB app). All are BCLB-licensed. Below, we rank the top Kenyan betting sites on what actually matters: M-Pesa payout speed, real bonus value, and withdrawal fees.
Best Betting Sites in Kenya Ranked
Every site below holds a current BCLB licence and takes M-Pesa. The differences are in the details. OdiBet and BangBet accept deposits from KES 1, the lowest minimum of any BCLB-licensed operator in Kenya. 1xBet won’t let you in for under KES 150. That spread matters if you’re testing a new site before committing real money.

| Mozzartbet | 20% up to KES 2,000 | KES 10 | Minutes | Free–KES 13 tiered | Jackpots, recurring bonuses |

Our Top Picks
Here’s what stands out about each site.
Betika
Kenya’s most popular betting app, and for good reason. Instant M-Pesa withdrawals via Paybill 290290, minimum deposit of KES 10, and weekly jackpots that regularly push into the millions. It’s the site most Kenyan punters already have on their phone.
We get into the details on odds, markets, and the bonus structure in our full Betika review.
SportPesa
The name that built Kenyan betting. BCLB-licensed since 2014 (licence BK 0000661), SportPesa left Kenya in 2019 over a tax dispute and came back. The KES 2,000 welcome bonus at 100% match is decent, but the 3x wagering requirement at 1.40+ odds means it’s not free money. The Mega Jackpot is still the biggest draw for casual punters.
OdiBet
OdiBet’s Android app weighs 2.57 MB. That’s designed for budget smartphones on slow networks, and it shows. KES 1 minimum deposit, KES 30 free bet on registration (no deposit needed), and 10% daily cashback on your first losing bet up to KES 200. If you’re on a tight budget or limited data, this is where you start. Full scoring in our OdiBet review.
Mozzartbet
Mozzartbet markets itself on “World’s Biggest Odds.” The real draw is the recurring bonuses: Happy Monday, Happy Weekend, and accumulator boosts that keep regular punters coming back. Withdrawal fees are transparent and tiered, starting free under KES 100 and capping at KES 13 above KES 20,000. Paybill 290059. Full scoring in our Mozzart Bet review.
SportyBet
The highest percentage welcome bonus in Kenya. Deposit KES 500, get KES 1,500 (300% match). It’s capped low compared to 1xBet’s KES 26,000, but the conversion is more realistic for casual punters. Pan-African operator with instant M-Pesa withdrawals and a clean app. Full scoring in our SportyBet review.
1xBet
The biggest welcome bonus in Kenya at KES 26,000 (200% match), and the widest market coverage with 40+ sports. One of the few Kenyan betting apps available on Google Play, which saves you the APK sideload. The catch: your first withdrawal requires KYC verification, which takes 2–3 business days. After that, M-Pesa payouts land in minutes. Full scoring in our 1xBet review.
22Bet
Zero withdrawal fees. That’s the headline. Minimum withdrawal of just KES 10, app optimised for 2G networks, and a Friday reload bonus up to KES 15,500 that makes it the best ongoing value for anyone who deposits regularly. Paybill 7325515. Full scoring in our 22Bet review.
BetWinner
40+ sports markets, zero withdrawal fees, and M-Pesa payouts that typically land within 15 minutes. The KES 19,500 welcome bonus at 100% match looks strong, but the 5x wagering requirement at 1.40+ odds is steep. Read the terms before you deposit.
How Kenya’s Betting Tax Actually Works
Yes, you pay tax on both ends. The Finance Act 2025 reduced excise duty to 5% on deposits and withholding tax to 5% on withdrawals, down from 15% and 20% respectively. That sounds better, but here’s what it actually looks like:
+ You deposit KES 1,000. 5% excise is deducted. KES 950 lands in your betting wallet.
+ You win KES 5,000 and withdraw. 5% withholding tax is deducted. KES 4,750 hits your M-Pesa.
+ Your net win was KES 4,000. You paid KES 300 in total tax. That’s an effective 7.5% rate.
Every site that claims “no tax” is absorbing it or refunding it. The tax is still there. BangBet is the most transparent about this: their tax-back bonus refunds the deduction to your betting wallet. But the government still gets paid.
What to Check Before You Sign Up
Check the BCLB register at bclb.go.ke/licensed-operators/. Every licensed operator is listed. If a site isn’t there, don’t deposit. The BCLB ordered the shutdown of 58 unauthorised betting websites that accepted deposits via M-Pesa but refused to pay out winnings. Don’t be the punter who finds out the hard way.
Kenya’s regulator is transitioning from the BCLB to a new Gambling Regulatory Authority under the Gambling Control Act 2025. All existing licences remain valid through the transition.
Before you sign up anywhere:
+ Check the BCLB licence register
+ Verify the M-Pesa paybill number matches the operator’s official number
+ Read the bonus wagering requirements before depositing. The headline amount isn’t what you get to keep
+ Use deposit limits and self-exclusion tools if you need them
